Games to Help You Prepare for the Benchmark

With the next benchmark exam coming up this Thursday (December 17), why not hone your math skills with some of the fun games at Math Playground. Mastering games such as "Percent Shopping," "The Multiplication Game," and "Alien Angles" will help you get a good grade on the benchmark. Good luck!
Comment on this post. Tell us what game you played and how it ties in with what you've learned this year in math class!

Riding on Angles

Thanks to Zachary B. for sending in this photo of angles he saw in the real world! Looks like he is pretty close on his estimates of the degree measures (although the spelling is a little off :) ). Way to go!!

On Thursday, when we learned how even a small miscalculation in degrees can send a flight far off course, several of you had asked about where to find the free Google Earth program. Just follow this link. Then click the "download" button.

GIANT'S CAUSEWAY, NORTHERN IRELAND

Look at the shape of the tops of each stone...how did this happen? Is this a trick? Is it man-made? Do the research and find out more. Just do a search for "Giant's Causeway" and unwrap the mystery. Post a comment and let everyone know what you've learned and earn some extra credit. Use your first name and last initial (ex: Michael J.) and post as "Anonymous".
